Hurry up and Wait
Trackback (Related) We got dragged in to the bosses office around 09:30.
"You guys are certified Level 4 right? Working as Level 3's?"
kdwill and I looked at each other nervously.."Uhm...yes..."
"Why?"
"Because we're cellsite monkey's, not Central office."
"Your Level 4's now. I need you in Kansas City.."
And thats how our mad rush began
We jetted to our hotel. Took us less than an hour to get packed and leave, probably forfieted our $50 room deposit with our luck in the runningg. We got back to the office by 11:00 and got what supplies we needed, a Defects List of the repairs we're to make, a copy of the "Red Book" which is essentially the site specifications folder, and some extra eye wash dispensers for the battery area.
And then we waited.
See we can't enter the client premises with out an SMOP, or Specific Method of Procedure.
We, as in kdwill and I, have to be acknowledged by the client that we aare indeed, Level 4, and then the SMOP has to be approved by 3 of the clients engineers.
So we waited.
And waited.
The client and our company bantered back annd forth. Finally at 13:30 they gave us a green light to start driving the 9 hours from Dallas to Kansas City, MO.....but still without an SMOP.
The plan was to E-mail it to us and we'd print it upon arrival to beat the clock as it were.
Didn't happen.
We got in here about 21:00 last night, and here it is, 07:20 on Thursday....and still no SMOP.
So we two, plus the other 3 crew members who have been up here since Tuesday are standing around at our hotels.
Telecom. It's just like the Army, only with less camoflauge.
