First Look: Toshiba laptop offers nice extras
Article Launched: 05/07/2007 01:35:25 AM PDT
I haven't brought home a Windows Vista laptop that my wife really likes, but the Toshiba Satellite U205-S5057 got the biggest compliments so far.
This is a light, 4.1-pound machine with a 12.1-inch liquid crystal display.
It has extras that Toshiba calls "Life Smart" technology - enhancements that enable better security, wireless connectivity and ease of use. The enhancements are things like a biometric fingerprint scanner that you run your finger across when you're logging in. It also has a shock absorber to prevent damage to the hard disk, and a spill-resistant keyboard. It sells for $1,299. A model with 2 gigabytes of memory sells for $1,599.
